Bad News

The wireless network adapter in my laptop went out yesterday. Luckily I have a router that supports both wireless and direct connetion, but whats the use of a laptop with wireless when the wireless doesnt work? After a painstaking search, I discovered that this is a known issue and they will fix or atleast try to fix the problem. Thing is I will have to ship my laptop to them in order for them to repair it. Which means being without my laptop for upto 3 or 4 weeks unless I am lucky. The server is running on my old desktop, so the server will remain up and running, but I am left with 1 of 2 options. Either I use my wifes laptop to play, which means only 1 of us will be on at any given time, or use the desktop while it is running the server. Which should I do? I dont want to effect server performance by using the desktop while it is running the server, but I dont know how much it would really effect it.

With a 3 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM use the Desktop to run both the server and game.

No one will know the difference unless you get 10 players all together fighting

With a 2 Ghz processor and just one GB of RAM then they will notice some Lag but no big deal unless you get into heavy fighting with many enemies

If your old Desktop is wimpier than that.... Go buy a better one
